MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Membership renewal letters will be coming out for original charter members. Rates will not increase for 2013. A discount will be given if the annual fee is paid by December 21.

CREDIT CARD
As of January 1, 2013 we will no longer be accepting American Express. Due to high administrative fees and minimal usage, we can no longer accept this card. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

GO UNO MAVS
Dr. Beacom is working with the UNO Mavs athletic department. He is still available daily but please contact the staff for appointments as he will be in and out of the office.

BUSINESS OFFICE
CO-PAYS Please remember that you are expected to pay your co-pays at each visit. Co-pays are an agreement between patient, insurance & provider and are to be paid at the time of service. All accounts need to be current up to the last sixty days as per contract.

WELLNESS
Don’t forget to get a flu shot. Call and make an appointment today. Please bring all of your current medications with you so we can update your profile. A yearly physical and some lab work are part of membership.

HOSPITAL INPATIENTS
Beacom Health has made arrangements with FAMC for hospital coverage. This assures 24 hour inpatient coverage for our patients. Dr. Beacom will maintain inpatient privileges and make rounds at times. He will be communicating with the physicians concerning your care in much the same way he interacts during an out of town hospitalization.

ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS
We will continue to strive to be on the cutting edge of electronic medical records and will attest for meaningful use II. This will include your ability to communicate with us and view your information through a PATIENT PORTAL. If you need help with the portal or your visit summary please let us know. These functions will be mandated by the government over the next few years.

FARM SAFETY
We held events at the County Fairs and Husker Harvest Days. Farm Safety Studies will continue with UNMC and Yale University. Beacom Health is actively involved with UNMC’s College of Public Health assisting with Agricultural Safety issues and grant writing. Our primary goal is to help agricultural producers remain safe and healthy.

CLINICAL RESEARCH
We currently are conducting research trials in heart failure, diabetes and COPD and expect to be involved in an Influenza treatment study this winter. If you are interested in learning if you would qualify for a current or future research trial, call Wendy at 402-727-1955.

SPORTS MEDICINE
Dr. Beacom is IMPACT certified – specific training and expertise in concussion diagnosis, treatment and management to assist with return to play decisions. Contact us for winter and spring sports physicals.
