Wendy Olson, Clinical Research Coordinator

Wendy Olson joined Dr. Beacom’s practice in 2007 conducting research studies in family practice. Through her role as Clinical Research Coordinator, Ms. Olson furthers Beacom Health’s mission of improving the health and well-being of every patient. She is an advocate for potential and current research participants as she implements and monitors research opportunities for Beacom Health.

Her responsibilities at the practice include assisting the Investigator in the conduct of research, maintaining the continuity of clinical trials and ensuring Beacom Health is prepared for any regulatory assessments in addition to maintaining current knowledge of clinical research issues.

Ms. Olson has extensive experience in all aspects of the research process – from pre-clinical animal studies up through drug and device development in patient trials. Olson works cooperatively with principal investigators, research team members and study participants to achieve successful study completion. She is in charge of networking with contract research organizations, pharmaceutical sponsors, site management organizations, and national cooperative research group staffs, such as Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health, to create positive exposure and develop new contract opportunities.

Prior to joining Beacom Health, Olson began her research career at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy, studying the toxic levels of chemicals in the state’s farmers. Additionally, Ms. Olson has worked in the Immanuel Medical Center pulmonary lab and with the Alegent Health Heart Failure program. Wendy Olson completed her bachelor’s degree in biology from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Neb.
